This one-day course gives commercial drivers a practical framework for preventing collisions and managing risk on the road. Covering everything from space management and adverse conditions to dock safety and distracted driving, it's designed for drivers who want to stay sharp — and stay safe.
What You'll Learn
- Defensive driving principles: space management, speed control, scanning, and hazard recognition
- Common collision types and prevention (rear-end, intersection, lane change, backing)
- Adverse driving conditions: night driving, bad weather, work zones, and limited visibility
- Impaired and distracted driving: alcohol, drugs, fatigue, and in-vehicle technology
- Sharing the road safely with trucks, cars, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians
- Dock safety when loading and unloading
- Basic vehicle safety checks and emergency procedures

Classroom instruction plus vehicle walk-arounds and demonstrations. No CDL-level behind-the-wheel training.
