Why We're Celebrating

Taylor Made Truck Driving School was founded by Ed Taylor, who spent years turning local people into professional drivers. After Ed's passing in 2022, the school closed. It reopened in March 2023 — same name, same purpose, same commitment to doing the training right. Read more about Ed.

Since reopening, students have come to Burlington from twelve local cities, and the school has issued nearly 1,000 federally reported training certifications. This open house is our way of thanking the community that made that possible, and of showing our neighbors what happens behind the doors on Burlington Blvd.

We've also grown. We recently expanded into passenger bus CDL training, and we've been approved to provide school bus CDL training for employers — two programs that keep Skagit County districts and transit operators staffed with qualified, safe drivers.

Trained with Ed Taylor? Worked alongside him? Please come. If you were part of this school before 2022, or you knew Ed, this celebration is as much yours as it is ours. We would genuinely like to see you there.

What We Train

Class A is our primary program, but it's far from the only thing we do. Come to the open house with questions — or read up first.

We also offer Class C training, school bus CDL training for employers, and employer-sponsored and custom programs. See all programs or read about employer training.

Thinking About Driving For A Living?

Bring your questions on the 27th — our instructors will be there all afternoon and they would rather talk it through in person. If you want to read up first, the real numbers live here:

Employment and earnings are not guaranteed and vary by employer, position, experience, endorsements, and other factors.

In the Community

Our trucks and drivers volunteer hauling for Harvest Against Hunger, moving food to where it's needed. We support local food banks and work with the Lions Club. Training drivers is the job; being a good neighbor is the point.

Coming From Out of Town?

We've negotiated a school rate with the Cocusa Motel here in Burlington for students traveling in to train. If distance has been your reason for putting off a CDL, ask us about it at the open house — or read more about training with us from out of the area.

We Hope to See You There

Thursday, August 27, 2026 · 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. · 650 N. Burlington Blvd., Burlington, WA 98233. Free, family friendly, and open to everyone. Bring a neighbor.
